Monthly Champion Story
Each month we'll be highlighting an inspirational story of Compact championing in action.
February
Annette Laidler had only been Lambeth Compact Officer for a few weeks when she met with her local police administration; however she came away having recruited nine Compact Champions. The Police are keen to use their Compact to support engagement, especially now that they have the Faith and Neighbourhood and Prevent programmes to deliver.
These champions include the Superintendent, all four Inspectors in the Borough and three Community Engagement Officers – probably the most anywhere in the country. They will be embedding Compact principles in their everyday work and neighbourhood activities to strengthen their engagement with groups and residents. In addition to receiving the Lambeth Compact Champions Network email newsletter, an induction session involving the Chief Superintendent has been arranged for new Champions, who will explore the practicalities of Compact promotion and implementation.
