Local Compacts Conference 2009

Compact Voice hosted its second annual local Compacts conference in Birmingham, themed "Practical Action for a Thriving Compact, Sector and Community". The event was well-attended and generated lots of productive discussion between voluntary and public sector attendees. Just under 90% of delegates describing the day as either good or very good.

Table Discussion

Some delegates said they now saw the refresh as an opportunity and understood the crucial role of Compact champions in spreading the word about the Compact. Others were inspired to write 5 key messages about their Compact and to start a Compact win list.

This year’s delegates also asked us to include more on targeting smaller groups and long term funding in future events. Popular suggestions were for more information on developing Compact champion’s support, and best practice examples. Compact Voice will use this information to inform our direction in the coming year, as well as in planning next year's event.
